F5 Distributed Cloud
An architectural storytelling tool
An architectural storytelling tool
F5 launched an initiative to reinvent how they [F5] go to market with architectural-led discussions about how all aspects of F5 capabilities plug into application lifecycles. The outcome of such an initiative should be engaging, visual, and immersive, while walking clients through the data journey in an easily understood manner.

Challenges
|
• Cross-selling does not happen successfully. Paper versions that market the whole portfolio as a set of outcomes and solutions do not translate well to a technical conversation
• Conversations often fail because the solutions tend to be very technical from the start. This leads to a product(s) knowledge gap, which then leads to the wrong support team being brought into conversations |
|
Strategic Solutions
|
• An architectural storytelling tool
• Increasing customers' knowledge of the many areas that F5 can partner with them • Demonstrate how F5 is helping customers right now but then also show how F5 can help in other areas of the architecture |
Research & Discovery
A series of specialized working sessions over a 3 week period with multiple stakeholders helped us gather requirements, determine application architecture, brainstorm visualizations and style, and determine the overall application UX.
Sketches
Whiteboard sketches allowed us to gain early validation of the product, saving time and ensuring we are not producing wasteful design work. I can easily and efficiently make changes while including user feedback, reactions and discussion.
Solution
The P1 solution focuses on one specific architecture visualization called Distributed Cloud Delivery & Security, including multiple scenarios within that use case. Within each use case the application will feature opportunities to provide a deeper understanding of other areas of the F5 portfolio.
